Rifles and Trenches - game detailes
Small game. You have several soldiers and you are in a trenches. Your task is not to pass enemy. So, you will need to survive. There will be several waves of enemies attack. Your soldiers have a one ammo rifles, which you need to reload in time. Everyone has a grenade and medpack. There is one machinegun. And you can call for help by radio. To heal your soldiers, update ammo, repair machinegun. Game is a one screen game. In retro style. With a spirit of computers from 80s.
As a base point it was taken a videogame “Crests and Shooting”. With similar idea. You have a line. And you need to keep it. With crossfire with enemies. But, in this game, everything is remade another way. But main idea is similar.
Trench. Soldiers. They have more actions to deflect enemy attack. It is appearing a machinegun here. And you can by radio call some bonuses. To add everyone ammo, repair machinegun, to heal everyone who is alive. It is, in theory, can help a lot.
You can select how many waves with enemies you will have. You can go with one wave. Or make more, for example, to set two or three waves.
As a game finish, you will be said, that you keep your line or not.
Game is made with programming language QB64. With style of retro, with possibilities, that exists. Simple graphic mode was selected. Few colors only. Turn based game mode. Lots of text also cannot be on the screen. Just like style of retro computers 80s. That can be done with basic. In a simple graphic mode. And that’s why it is looks like this, and has certain gameplay.
It is not played as a hard game. It is not a difficult game. But it requires some time. Turn based.
And compare with videogame “Crest And shooting” it is appeared a new rules. So next, it is like, a user`s manual. How to play.
New rules
1) Movement
Soldiers can exchange their positions, if they are located in near positions.
To go out of map – to appear at the other side.
2) Shooting
If a machine gun in hands, then you have following actions:
-walk
-wait (skip turn)
-set it at position
1) Actions
Throw a grenade
Actions with machine gun
Call a radio
By radio you can
- update ammo for rifles
- update grenades
- update machinegun ammo
- call medic
- call mechanic
2) All soldiers have
1 ammo rifle
And 10 ammo in a bag
1 grenade
3) machinegun
It has 2 series of shots
and 8 shot series in a metal case near
It can be repaired by mechanic.
4) How machinegun works
It is set, from the beginning, in some position.
When machinegun is set in some cell, you gave following actions:
- reload
- shoot
- take it from a position
back
When a soldier is with machinegun, you have following actions:
- to set it in a cell
- back
5) How radio works
1 request in a process
After a call wait for 3 turns
- update ammo for rifles
Gives 10 ammo in a bag for every soldier
- update grenades
Gives 1 grenade for every soldier
- Update machinegun ammo. Ammo series.
Gives 8 ammo series in a metal case for machinegun
- Call medic
Restore LIVES for every soldier, which is ALIVE
- call mechanic
Restore LIVES for machinegun, if it is ALIVE
6) AI
8 - it is maximum number of enemies at the screen. It is a wave.
Stormtrooper - STR
Go straight with a straight fire line and shoot
ammo = 5 ammo stormtrooper rifle
Break position - BRK
Go by a closed line and throw grenades with a distance
It hit machinegun and hit through a covers, if it reach the target with a grenade
ammo = 1 ammo rifle
Soldier SLD
Go by open line and move aside to a near cover for a time
ammo = 1 ammo rifle
Special - SPC
Moves left and right random way
ammo = 2 ammo special rifle
it is shoot and do damage even with a target, that is at the cover place. With a accuracy 50 percent.
7) Settings
Minimum of waves =1
Maximum of waves = 10
Every soldier has 4 lives. And machinegun has 4 lives.
