Full-screen mode was nice (it would have been too small a window to play otherwise).

Large sprites made it easy to see what was happening.

Medal-system was a good bonus to also having a scoring system. I think I got 3 medals. My high score was 467 after getting to level 5.

It definitely has that 80s feel to it.

I liked how on the credits page you even included the link to your source material.

Sometimes the enemy  would just sit there and not even shoot at me.

Firing one bullet at a time gets a little boring after a while.

Hey there,

I have played your game and loved the gameplay and the old school particles and graphics

the game's way polished than i thought it would be (lol :D)

the background music entirely fits the retro style game

however i would like you to implement these features (its your choice according to your game)

1. dont make the player restart the whole level when they die (it really makes the person go rage starting from level 1 again)

2. make a some sort of powerup kind of thing because right now it goes only 1 bullet by 1 bullet

3. make the enemies a bit more impactful (meaning make them shoot you more or have more health or something like that)

4. make the download file a zip file instead of a rar file and dont make the person install from another place or something like that (pls, its very difficult but i got it working)

5. maybe make a tutorial or something like that indicating what to do and controls (maybe a separate option)

6. (optional) make the movement go with "a, d" keys and the arrow keys (right now its only arrow)

you have a ton of time to fix these bugs so feel free to take your time

oh and one more thing, since the game was windowed (and i didnt see the option for full screen until the end), but the recording software captured only the window part so its all fine

(this is all my opinion you can use your ideas as well)

i would love you to bring more games of yours for me to test out

heres the video:

hope you like it

Hey. I just played your game. I love it. The total score of my first try is 466. I would like to say specific things about game-play. However, it felt so lovely and polished that it is difficult for me to make any suggestions. The only thing that troubled me is that I have to restart the game from the beginning. As I understand, it is not a real problem because it must be a part of the retro style. I hope to see more of your games in the future. I recorded how I played your game on the video. You can check it below. If you want me to delete the video, let me know. However, if you like the video, I make videos for such developers like you every day. I will be happy if you subscribe. I would love to make another video with your games in the future if you are fine with the idea. I subscribed to your itch.io page, so that I will be notified.

Was such a nice simple game, though i was required to download a file on my own. it seemed to lack  vcruntime140_1.dll. fun game though to just chill out on and shoot some things =p

All right. Let's start off by saying that the ambience - the sounds, music, etc. - are really neat and made the game come together as more than just a clone of Space Invaders. Good job!

However, I have some suggestions for improvements.

  1. Make it so that either you don't have to download a certain package to play this game, or make it clear that you have to download it and give a link to where you can download it.
  2. I think you should have a sort of "Powerup" system where if you kill a certain number of aliens, than you can obtain something like a better laser gun that shoots a larger laser bullet, or has less cooldown for shooting. Or maybe more health. Anything that rewards you something other than a high score for skill.
  3. The current cooldown for the laser gun is too slow to kill all the aliens in some levels, as not being able to do so can be frustrating when you know it's not your fault and it's instead the game's. Maybe, as a fix, you could not have aliens that go off screen, or make it so that you can get enough powerups for your laser to have a cooldown that enables killing all the aliens that go offscreen.

And that's it! I hope my feedback lets you improve your game and make it better than before!
