Frozen arctic station – 80s stylization for menu and monster out of liquids
Game menu – it will be very valuable part of the game. When you walk the labyrinth. As a rule not big one. This is not action. And more like quest. You walk with arrows. And use minimap. At the bottom. Map is rotating around you. And all the others action you perform with game menu. Space button. All actions are there.
So, I just, recently, has added - item use. This means next. That if in game scene. In point of labyrinth. In cell of labyrinth it is written that you need to use item. And you perform use item. So you make it done. Or – with other case – typical window – nothing.
Window nothing – it is often to appear. When action is not accessible. So it is to appear a window with word – nothing. Standard window. Game with style 80s computers. And some style and some minimalism. This saves time and amount of programming. To not to program every wrong action. You cannot go here. You cannot use item here. Instead of these things, for all the negative actions – it is to appear window with label – nothing. Universal, such a thing. So, for all the actions, that lead to nothing, and nothing programmed about this action here, with this cell of labyrinth.
Before use item. You need to make it active. For this you need to enter inventory and select item there. And it will appear at the bottom in menu. It will be written that there is item there. Card, for example. At the bottom, something as idea, menu is looks like Doom or same kind shooter game. But this is very schematical. So it has another functions. More like game is a quest and explore. But shooting it will be here. Not dynamical as Doom.
At the some scenes there will be objects for interactions. If they are hardcoded there. All labyrinth is written in file. With file YOU.ICE it is a log of your actions. Correct ones. So you used item, take item. And you get scores for all these actions. And it is all written withing file. It is like a log of your right, correct actions. With them it will be decided can you go out of the labyrinth.
For example, you need take item, use item, interact with object. And if you perform this correct. So you get close to the exit from labyrinth. And go next. By game, already. And it also has a text part. File YOU – because of it is actions of player. So this means it is your actions. And extension ICE. It is for interest. This is frozen arctic station. For stylization.
Shooting. Also turn based. From menu. So here it will be monsters. Not so a lot. And to deal with monster – you need to shoot it. When you shooting -ammo is reducing. So you need shoot with monster several times.
It is added to menu- big map. All labyrinth you see at once. And you can understand where to go. Double squares -rooms. Casual squares – it is corridors. You walk and explore. Perform actions. And go to exit. It is shown coordinates and title of labyrinth.
And with view from the eyes. You see coordinates at the minimap. Such a little squares three at three. And total 9 cells. And rotation. According to the side. I also add a name of the labyrinth. And in most right corner – on most not notice place – scores. You game score. According walkthrough it will rise.
And monsters. Schematical. Simple. Fantastic, sci fi monsters. It is some liquids. But they show some intelligence form of behavior. This is slime. Such enemy often to see with role playing games about dungeons. It is for example poison lake. Such a circle with sticks out of it. It is gurgling liquid. It is creep hand. Looks like a lake. Puddle, out of it, it is growing something similar to a hand. And star – project x. This is some human looking kind monster. At the beginning it was image in my head – Nemesis from Resident Evil 3. Monsters in game more for atmosphere. And you simply, cannot go next. And need to shoot at them. Game is more like quest.
